Udupi man slips, falls into water-filled pit in paddy field; body found hours later

Ronald Mark Fernandes, a 53-year-old man, died in Udyavara. He reportedly slipped and fell into a water-filled pit in a paddy field. The incident happened when Ronald was walking towards the market. A family acquaintance discovered his body later that evening. Margaret Fernandes, Ronald's mother, filed a complaint with the Kaup Police. An Unnatural Death Report was registered.
