‘Most Heartbreaking Crisis’: Chandrasekaran Urges Air India To Stay Determined After Fatal Crash

Tata Sons and Air India Chairman N Chandrasekaran  described the recent Air India aircraft crash in Ahmedabad as the most devastating incident of his professional life.

Speaking to nearly 700 Air India staff members and the leadership team at the airline’s Gurugram headquarters and Training Academy, Chandrasekaran acknowledged the deep emotional toll the tragedy has taken  on the organisation.

“I've seen a reasonable number of crises in my career, but this is the most heartbreaking one which I never thought I would see,” he said, reported PTI citing sources. He expressed solidarity with the bereaved families and extended support to everyone affected, calling them part of Air India’s extended family.

He urged employees to remain steady and committed to the company’s mission, despite the grief and scrutiny that follow such events. “We have to make sure that we stay the course. Be more determined in everything we do. We need to wait for the investigation to find out,” Chandrasekaran was quoted as saying.

Call To Action: Determination and Safety First

The Air India chairman stressed the need for collective strength and composure during this difficult time. “If you feel distraught, the word you should remember is determination. We need to show resilience and use this moment to build a safer airline,” he said, encouraging the team to view the tragedy as a turning point for creating more robust systems and safer operations, reported Moneycontrol.

During his visit to critical units including the Emergency Command Centre, Integrated Operations Control Centre, and Customer Service and Support departments, Chandrasekaran took time to recognise the dedication and commitment of employees working behind the scenes. “Every small action you do, executed with perfection, builds the larger success of the airline,” he told them.
