Palampur college for girls secures NAAC Grade ‘B’
Kanhiya Lal Butail DAV College for Girls, Palampur—a leading institution dedicated to women’s education in Himachal Pradesh since 1969—has achieved a significant milestone by securing a Grade ‘B’ in its first NAAC accreditation cycle. This recognition reflects the college’s consistent growth in academic excellence, administrative competence and its enduring role as a beacon of learning for generations of young women in the region.
The two-day NAAC assessment evaluated the college on seven key parameters: curriculum planning and implementation, teaching-learning processes, research and innovation, infrastructure and physical facilities, student support and progression, governance and institutional values. The accreditation now enables the college to access developmental grants and foster enhanced academic collaborations.
College director, Prof RS Rana, said: “This accreditation is a testament to the unwavering dedication of our faculty, staff and students. It validates our efforts and inspires us to aim even higher in our pursuit of academic and institutional excellence.” He also announced the commencement of admissions for various programs including BA, B.Com, BBA, BCA, B.Ed, M.Com, MCA and MA in Hindi, political science and history.
President of the College Managing Committee, BBL Butail, praised the achievement and emphasised that this was not the final destination but a promising new beginning. He reaffirmed the institution’s commitment to continuously improve its academic standards and excel in future accreditation cycles.
Vice-president Gaurav Butail, general secretary Rajinder Singh Thakur and college director Prof RS Rana applauded IQAC Coordinator Dr Shivani Nagpal, co-coordinator Medha Sood and the entire staff for their contributions. They collectively pledged to uphold the values of academic excellence, gender equity and holistic development.
