Rs 44.5 crore for road repairs in Fatehgarh Sahib Assembly constituency

The Punjab Mandi Board has sanctioned Rs 44.5 crore for repair and maintenance of 44 roads falling in the Fatehgarh Sahib Assembly constituency.

Addressing mediapersons here today, Gurwinder Singh Dhillon, chairman, Market Committee, Sirhind, said 35 of these roads fall under the Sirhind committee and the remaining under Chanarthal Market Committee. He said the board has assigned the responsibility of repair work and maintenance and supervision to the PWD for the next five years.

He said the roads to be repaired included Pirjain to Bajigar Basti, Sadhugarh Kharora road to Bibi Pur, Gurdwara Fatehgarh Sahib to Civil Hospital, No. 4

Chungi to Dera Amba Wala, Focal Point to Gagad Majra, Phirni Kotla Bajwara to Tajpur Mahitab Garh, Bahlan to Rasulpur road, Bhagatpura to Rasulpur, Bassi Kharar road to Kamali, Sirhind-Chunni road to Mukaronpur, Chunni to Chunni Sampla, Badali Ala Singh to Rupalhedi, Sirhind Chunni road to Duffeda, Pamour to Dabali, Pirjain to Kotla Fazil and GT Road to Khedi via Sounda Head.

He asked the panchayats of villages concerned to immediately bring to the notice of the Market Committee chairman in case substandard material was used in the repair work, which would begin in the next few days.
