MP June 17 Weather Update: Monsoon Enters Madhya Pradesh; Heavy Rain Alert Issued for 50+ Areas Including Bhopal & Indore
Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): South-west monsoon has entered Madhya Pradesh. Monsoon reached the state via western MP's Barwani, Khargone, Khandwa and Burhanpur.
In the next 2 days, monsoon can knock in Bhopal-Indore. At the same time, it will reach Gwalior-Chambal last. If the weather department is to be believed, monsoon will cover the entire state in a week.
Thunderstorm alert in more than 50 districts
Before this, there will be a period of storm and rain in the state. Heavy or very heavy rain can also occur at some places.
The districts for which the Meteorological Department has issued a thunderstorm alert on Tuesday include Bhopal, Indore, Ujjain, Gwalior, Morena, Bhind, Datia, Niwari, Tikamgarh, Chhatarpur, Rewa, Sidhi, Singrauli, Panna, Damoh, Mandla, Balaghat, Seoni, Pandhurna, Chhindwara, Narsinghpur, Sagar, Vidisha, Raisen, Narmadapuram, Betul, Harda, Sehore, Shajapur, Dewas, Khandwa, Burhanpur, Khargone, Barwani, Dhar, Alirajpur, Jhabua, Ratlam, Mandsaur, Sheopur, Shivpuri, Ashoknagar, Guna, Rajgarh, Agar-Malwa, Satna, Maihar, Mauganj, Katni, Jabalpur, Umaria, Shahdol, Anuppur, Dindori and Neemuch. The wind speed here can be from 40 to 60 kilometers per hour.
On Monday, the monsoon reached the state through 4 districts - Barwani, Khargone, Khandwa and Burhanpur. There was a spell of rain in these districts. According to the weather department, on Monday, in 9 hours, the maximum of 1.25 inches of water fell in Naugaon of Chhattarpur district.
More than 1 inch of rain also fell in Rewa. Half an inch of rain fell in Mandla. There was a spell of rain in Dhar, Guna, Ratlam, Sagar, Satna, Balaghat, Khandwa, Barwani, Tikamgarh, Ashoknagar and Harda. The weather changed in Bhopal in the evening. There was also drizzle at some places. There was a spell of rain in many districts till late night.
Due to rain, the day temperature has dropped significantly. On Monday, only one city Narmadapuram recorded a temperature of 40.2 degrees. In other cities, the temperature remained below 40°C. Talking about big cities, Bhopal recorded 37.5°C, Indore 34.6°C, Gwalior 37°C, Ujjain-Jabalpur recorded 38°C. Pachmarhi recorded the lowest temperature of 31.2 °C.
