Pune VIDEO: Denied Liquor On Credit, Man Attacks Wine Shop Worker With Cleaver In Yerawada; Paraded By Police
An incident of brutal attack has come to light from Pune's Yerawada, where a 27-year-old man allegedly assaulted a wine shop employee with a sharp weapon for refusing to provide alcohol on credit. The incident occurred on June 15, at around 9pm, at MS Wines in Yerawada. The attack led to serious injuries on the victim's face.
The accused has been identified as Rohit Pille (27), a resident of Jay Jawan Nagar, Lakshminagar, Yerawada.
According to the police, Pille entered the shop and demanded alcohol on credit, assuring he would pay later. However, the wine shop employee, Karan Santosh Ahuja (28), a resident of Vishrantwadi, refused to provide him alcohol, as giving alcohol on credit was not permitted by the owner.
Angry over the refusal, Pille became aggressive and started threatening Ahuja. Later, the argument turned violent. Pille allegedly broke the glass of the shop using a metal cleaver, then hurled the weapon inside the shop. Pille attacked Ahuja’s face, leading to serious injuries.
Ravindra Shirke, Senior Police Inspector (Yerawada Police Station), said, “The incident took place over refusing to provide liquor on credit. However, the accused, Pille, has been arrested and paraded by police in the area. The victim is under treatment and safe.”
Regarding the matter, a case has been registered under Sections 118(2), 351(2), and 324(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, along with relevant sections of the Indian Arms Act and the Maharashtra Police Act.
