Ahmedabad Plane Crash: Visuals Of Last Rites Of Air India Captain Sumeet Sabharwal In Mumbai’s Powai

The last rites of Captain Sumeet Sabharwal, who tragically lost his life in the Air India flight AI-171 crash shortly after takeoff from Ahmedabad, were held on Tuesday.
His mortal remains were brought to his residence in Mumbai's Powai in the morning. The funeral took place at the Chakala crematorium. MLA Dilip Lande was also present at the captain’s funeral.
With tears in his eyes, Captain Sumeet Sabharwal's 88-year-old father paid tribute to his son, pilot of the Air India plane which crashed.
Pictures from outside the housing complex showed a large crowd of people who came to pay their respects to Captain Sabharwal.
People, including friends and well-wishers, gathered to pay their final respects to the veteran pilot.
Jal Vayu Vihar is a housing society mainly home to retired Air Force personnel and aviation professionals.
Businessman and real estate developer Dr Niranjan Hiranandani offered his condolences to the bereaved family.
