Mumbai News: Woman Files FIR Against Man Who Tried To Remove Pants In Women's Local Train Coach En Route CSMT (VIDEO)
Mumbai: The Free Press Journal reporter, who was also the witness to the incident, has cordinated with the Wadala Railway Police station and filed an FIR against the intoxicated man who had entered and tried to remove pants in the Ladies coach which was captured on camera.
An intoxicated man had entered the women's compartment at Chunabhatti station around 8 AM while travelling to CSMT via the Harbour line route on June 14. The entire incident was captured by a reporter from the Free Press Journal, who captured the incident on video, which was later shared on X.

The man exhibited drunken behaviour, trying to take off his pants while gazing at the women. When asked to leave, he hastily walked toward the door, appearing as if he might jump from the moving train before getting a grip. Witness observed him reboard from another coach as the train approached Wadala railway station. After being removed from the women's coach, the man was reported to the authorities, but no help was available on the platform or from helplines.
The accused has been charged with Bharatiya Nyay Sanhita 79 claiming, BNS Section 79 criminalizes actions insulting a woman's modesty, such as offensive words or gestures and privacy intrusion. Punishment includes simple imprisonment for up to three years and a possible fine and Bharatiya Railway Adhiniyam, 1989 section 162 claiming Section 162 of the Indian Railways Act, 1989, penalizes male individuals for entering or staying in areas reserved for females. Offenders can be fined up to 500 rupees and may be removed by railway staff. Their tickets or passes may also be forfeited if they occupy a reserved berth or seat after being asked to leave.
