Mini bullet train fare has changed, now premium facilities will be available at a lower price
The fare of premium coaches in the Delhi-Ghaziabad-Meerut Namo Bharat Express has been made just 1.2 times that of standard coaches, meaning 20% extra fare will have to be paid.
New Delhi. Traveling in India’s first regional rapid train Namo Bharat running between Delhi-Ghaziabad-Meerut has now become even more economical. On June 16, 2025, the National Capital Region Transport Corporation (NCRTC) has reduced the fare of its premium coach to just 1.2 times that of the standard coach. That is, now to avail the facilities of premium coach, passengers will have to pay only 20% extra amount over the standard ticket.
Now if the price of a standard ticket is ₹ 100, then a premium coach ticket will be available for just ₹ 120. Earlier this difference was more, due to which many passengers were hesitant to travel in premium coach.
How much fare on which routes?
Now the fare of premium coach from New Ashok Nagar to Meerut South will be ₹180, while the fare of standard coach is ₹150. Premium fare between Ghaziabad to Anand Vihar has been kept at ₹50 and standard fare at ₹40. NCRTC says that positive feedback has been received from the passengers regarding this change and now more people are getting attracted towards premium coach.
What facilities will be available in premium coach?
People traveling in premium coach not only get relief from the crowd, but also get many additional facilities, such as:

Coat hangers, footrests, magazine holders
Premium lounge access at select stations
State-of-the-art interiors and more space
What is the Namo Bharat Project?
The Namo Bharat train was flagged off by PM Narendra Modi on 20 October 2023. The project is 82.15 km long, which includes 22 stations (16 RRTS and 9 Meerut Metro stations). The total cost of this project is ₹30,274 crores and its funding has been received from the Central Government, State Government and international institutions like Asian Development Bank. Currently, 11 stations are operational on 55 km of this route till June 2025, while operations will start soon on the rest of the part. Once the entire corridor is operational, the journey from Delhi to Meerut can be completed in just 55 minutes, which currently takes 3-4 hours by road.
Ticket booking and facilities
Tickets can be booked using Namo Bharat Connect App, QR code, ticket vending machine, NCMC card or ticket counter. Every train has facilities like a ladies coach, seats for the elderly and disabled, CCTV cameras, Wi-Fi, LED screens and charging ports.
