COVID-19 Update: India Records Decline By 428 In All States; Death Toll Rises By One After Woman Passes Away In Maharashtra
Mumbai: The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW) has reported additional deaths related to Covid-19, raising the total number of fatalities here since May to six, and 108 since January 2025. The deceased was a 44-year-old female suffering from chronic liver cirrhosis, according to the latest COVID-19 report by MoHFW.
The total number of Covid-related deaths in the state is currently 29. Health officials stated that since the rise started in May, only individuals with significant comorbidities have died, a number that is low given the state's large population.
On Monday, the state noted 34 new cases, 12 of which were in Mumbai. This marks a significant drop since the city had been reporting over 20 to 30 cases daily throughout this month.
Additional cases were noted from Pune Municipal Corporation (7), Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar Municipal Corporation (7), Navi Mumbai (1), Thane (1), Pimpri-Chinchwad (1), Satara (1), Sangli Municipal Corporation (1), Amravati (1), Amravati Municipal Corporation (1), and Nagpur (1). Health officials reported that all identified patients exhibited mild symptoms. Before the recent incidents, a 35-year-old cardiac patient passed away at a private hospital in the city on June 13.

India has recorded fall of COVID-19 cases by 428, making total active cases across all states to 836, with 14772 cured and total 109 deaths. Here is state-wise update:
Andhra Pradesh currently reports 77 active cases and 176 recoveries. Arunachal Pradesh reports no active cases, whereas Assam has 22 active cases and 24 recoveries. Bihar has 37 current cases and 69 recovered cases. Chandigarh reports 1 case, Chhattisgarh has 51 active cases, and Delhi has 555 active cases, all with a considerable number of total recoveries. Goa has 5 active cases, Gujarat counts 1248, Haryana has 103, while Himachal Pradesh stays at 0 active cases. Karnataka has 696 current cases, whereas Kerala has the highest with 1659. Madhya Pradesh currently has 137 active cases, while Maharashtra has 512 reported cases. Active cases are few in Manipur and Tripura, whereas West Bengal has 747.
