Mumbai: Chaos erupted at a Croma store in Mumbai's Bhandup West area after an employee was allegedly asked to wipe off his 'Tilak' on Eid al-Adha (Bakri Eid), June 7. The video of the incident surfaced on Tuesday. As per social media reports, the youth, identified as Jitesh Sharma, was asked by his senior to wipe off his Tilak.

The senior employee, Rashid, also allegedly asked Sharma to leave the store. Right-wing activists went to the store and threatened the store manager over the alleged incident. They asked Rashid to apologise to Sharma. The video of a heated argument between the store staff and the right-wing activists was shared by a social media handle, @TheTreeni.

The activists also asked the store manager to issue a warning letter to the senior employee of the store for his behaviour.

Video Of The Incident:

In the video, activists could be heard telling the store manager that he should make sure that such incidents should not be repeated and communal harmony should be maintained.

Netizens also slammed Rashid's behaviour for asking a junior employee to remove Tilak.

"Which store is it? This is Bharat. Not any Middle East country. How dare he even ask to remove Tilak? Punish this store guy," one of the X users commented.

"What action has been taken on this guy? This is shameful and unacceptable," another user wrote.

So far, Sharma has not filed any police complaint over the incident.
