NHAI started a new service on Delhi-Gurugram and Dwarka Expressway, now challan will be deducted immediately

190 high resolution cameras have been installed on NH-48 and Dwarka Expressway of Gurugram, which will keep a 24 hour vigil. These cameras will keep an eye on those who over speed and violate other traffic rules, which is expected to reduce road accidents. Challan will be sent immediately to those who overspeed.

NH-48 Gurgaon-Delhi and Dwarka Expressway will now be under the watch of the third eye all the time. The work of installing high resolution cameras by NHAI on Delhi-Gurgaon Expressway and Dwarka Expressway has been completed. Testing of these cameras is going on. These cameras will be fully started by the end of this month. In such a situation, if you are driving your vehicle on these two expressways, then be careful. It may happen that driving at over speed here may cost you dearly. These cameras installed on both the highways will be on 24*7. In such a situation, if you drive at a speed higher than the prescribed speed, then you may be fined. Mainly, these cameras will keep an eye on over speeders. One third of the total cameras have been installed with speed enforcement technology.

17 crore rupees spent on the project

Three types of cameras have been installed by NHAI in 27.2 km area from Shiv Murti in Rajouri, Delhi to Kherki Daula on NH-48 and 28.8 km area from Kherki Daula to Shiv Murti in Delhi via Dwarka Expressway on the highway itself. 190 cameras have been installed in about 56 km area. Out of these, 110 cameras are PTZ, 15 cameras are 360 degree and 65 cameras have been installed for speed enforcement. 17 crore rupees have been spent on this project which was completed in nine months. These cameras have been installed at 15 points. Out of these, cameras have been installed at nine points on Dwarka Expressway and six points on NH-48.

NHAI’s thirteen rules will be monitored

Out of the total 190 cameras installed at 15 points, 65 cameras are for speed reading. The control room will monitor the over-speeding drivers on both the expressways. Apart from the speed limit, the NHAI will also keep an eye on banned vehicles, safety of drivers, wrong side vehicles, safety measures, toll collection, over taking, lane driving, passenger safety, vehicles carrying dangerous materials and other types of traffic rule violators.

These cameras are equipped with modern technology

Under this project, a maximum of 110 PTZ cameras have been installed. These cameras cover the footage of the vehicle from every angle. 15 cameras have been installed for 100% coverage of the main carriageway of the highway as well as the service lane. Apart from this, 65 cameras have been installed only to keep an eye on over-speeding drivers. These cameras are also equipped with night vision technology.

Rule breakers will not be spared now

These cameras are night vision, and lights have also been installed on the cameras at night on every panel so that apart from all types of traffic rule violations, criminal activity can also be monitored. The speed limit on the highway is 60 km per hour for heavy vehicles, 80 km per hour for small vehicles and 100 km per hour for other vehicles including cars. Despite this, people drive at over speed here. Such cases are more common on Dwarka Expressway.

Efforts to prevent road accidents

On one hand, the installation of these high resolution cameras will reduce road accidents, while on the other hand, those who break traffic rules can also be monitored. There are more than ten black spots on the highway, such as Shankar Chowk, IFFCO Chowk, Rajiv Chowk, Hero Honda Chowk, Manesar, Pachgaon, Khairki Daula, etc., where accidents often occur due to overspeeding.
