Navi Mumbai News: Joyful Start To New Academic Year At NMMC's ETC Centre For Specially-Abled Students
The new academic year began on a joyful and heartwarming note at the Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation's (NMMC) ETC (Divyang Education and Training) Centre, where a special School Enrollment Festival was organized on June 16 to welcome students with disabilities.
The event was aimed at creating excitement and a sense of belonging among the children returning after their summer break. Both morning and afternoon session students were greeted enthusiastically by the staff and teachers. Dr. Anuradha Babar, Director of the ETC Centre, personally welcomed each child with a rose and distributed educational materials including pencils and erasers. Soft, melodious music added to the cheerful atmosphere.
Dr. Babar also interacted warmly with the young students, inquiring about their well-being and ensuring they felt comfortable on their first day back. The programme saw active participation from para-medical staff and special educators, who contributed to making the occasion memorable for the children.
Municipal Commissioner Kailas Shinde and Additional Commissioner Sunil Pawar conveyed their best wishes to the specially-abled students for the new academic session. Heads of the Hearing Impaired and Intellectually Disabled Departments, along with the Administrative Superintendent, meticulously coordinated the event to ensure its success.
The festival reflected NMMC’s commitment to inclusive education and its continued efforts to provide a supportive learning environment for all students.
