16 illegal Bangladeshi nationals held in Panipat factory raid

In a joint crackdown on illegal immigration, the Panipat unit of Haryana CID, the CM Flying Squad and Israna Police, detained 16 Bangladeshi nationals from a factory’s residential colony in the Balana village of Israna, Panipat.

The operation followed a tip-off received by CID Panipat regarding the presence of foreign nationals residing illegally in the factory premises. During the surprise inspection, authorities found nine men, four women, and three children — all Bangladeshi nationals — allegedly living without valid documents.

Officials revealed that some of the detainees were found with Aadhaar cards, believed to have been procured through unlawful means. These documents will be scrutinised as part of the investigation to determine how they were obtained.

“All 16 individuals have been taken to the Israna Police Station for detailed questioning and identity verification,” said an official associated with the operation.

Confirming the development, Sub-Inspector Dharambir, SHO Israna, said:

“We have detained 16 Bangladeshi nationals living illegally in a factory’s residential colony. The investigation is underway to verify their identities and the documents in their possession.”

The police have launched further legal proceedings to examine possible violations of immigration laws and misuse of government documentation systems.
