Campaigning ends, candidates connect with voters through walks, informal meets

With campaigning for Ludhiana West assembly bypoll ending at 6 pm today, the candidates were seen making most of the time left at their disposal.

They were seen today intensifying their outreach, meeting residents early in the morning during walks, games, over tea and breakfast and informal gatherings.

Sanjeev Arora (AAP), Bharat Bhushan Ashu (Congress) and Jiwan Gupta (BJP) were seen sharing tea and breakfast with locals, engaging in conversations about their concerns and aspirations for the constituency. These interactions aim to build a personal connection with voters, reinforcing their commitment to community development.

Arora was spotted at Punjab Agricultural University (PAU) during a morning walk, where he interacted with local residents, discussing key issues affecting the constituency. Later, he joined walkers for tea and breakfast, savouring chole-puri while continuing conversations with the community.

Arora has focused on approachability and grassroots engagement, while Ashu has emphasised his past contributions and future vision for Ludhiana West. Their morning interactions have become a key part of their campaign strategy, allowing them to connect with voters in a relaxed and informal setting.

Similarly, Ashu has been meeting voters early in the morning, participating in games like badminton and discussions, and sharing tea and meals with residents.

He emphasised that morning time is ideal for connecting with senior citizens, as they are fresh and full of ideas, making conversations more engaging and insightful.

Jiwan Gupta also shared a cup of tea with the people gathered in a local park. He interacted with them and listened to their concerns and grievances.

The candidates are using these informal settings to connect with people, listen to their concerns and strengthen their mass contact programme ahead of the June 19 election, with results expected on June 23.
