Raja Raghuvanshi Murder Probe: Shillong Police Knocks At Sonam’s Indore Residence, Questions Her Mother And Brother Govind

Indore (Madhya Pradesh): Shillong Police reached the home of accused Sonam Raghuvanshi in Indore on Wednesday, intensifying its probe in Raja Raghuvanshi's murder case.

Three officers questioned her mother and brother as part of the investigation. A day earlier, the same team had visited Raja’s family home in the city.

According to sources, police believe Sonam began planning Raja’s murder about a month before the wedding. The suspicion is based on the investigation that revealed Sonam's meeting with her lover Raj Kushwaha and hitman Vishal Singh in April, weeks before the May 11 wedding.

Narendra Nimonkar, who runs Avanti Restaurant near Indore’s TCS Square, told police that Sonam, Raj, and Vishal visited his restaurant once or twice in April.

He doesn’t recall their conversation or the exact dates, and CCTV footage is unavailable as it is kept for only 10 days.

The Special Investigation Team (SIT) also visited a rented flat in Indore’s Dewas Naka area where Sonam stayed from May 30 to June 8.

Shilom James, the flat’s owner, confirmed the search. However, Raja’s brother Sachin, who was present, said they were not informed if anything was recovered.

Meanwhile, Raja’s family said Shillong Police asked general questions about Sonam and Raja’s relationship and her behavior during the four days she stayed with them after the wedding.
