Ed Sheeran CONFIRMS Bollywood Singing Debut, To Lend His Voice In Hindi For Shah Rukh Khan's Film

English singer-songwriter Ed Sheeran is currently trending across social media, thanks to his latest song Sapphire, which featured vocals by Arijit Singh and a special appearance by Shah Rukh Khan. The music video was filmed during Sheeran's Mathematics tour in India earlier this year. He revealed that he spent over three weeks shooting the song in India, marking the longest duration he has ever devoted to filming a music video

Days after the song created a buzz, Ed confirmed that he is all set to make his Bollywood singing debut and revealed that he will be lending his voice to a Hindi song for a Shah Rukh Khan film.

On Tuesday, Ed shared a behind-the-scenes video in which he was seen singing in Punjabi and enjoying a scooter ride with Arijit. His fan club shared that clip on Instagram a wrote, "Can't wait for the full Punjabi version.Check out the behind the scenes on Ed's YouTube Channel! Ed said Hindi version in that video, so I'm not sure if the other version of the song will be Hindi or Punjabi now!"

In response, Ed responded to the post and said. "The Hindi song was for a Bollywood movie SRK is doing, this is the Punjabi version of Sapphire with Arijit. I'm just doing all languages at this point."

Soon after Ed confirmed the news, fans were convinced that the singer might be singing for Shah Rukh's upcoming film King, which stars Khan's daughter, Suhana Khan, Deepika Padukone, Rani Mukerji, Abhishek Bachchan, Anil Kapoor, Jackie Shroff, Jaideep Ahlawat and Arshad Warsi.

In the behind-the-scenes video of Sapphire, Ed Sheeran was also seen recording in a Hindi studio, where King director Siddharth Anand made an appearance—further fuelling speculation about Ed's song in the film King.
