Mandatory Workdays:
Employees are now required to work for a minimum of 225 days in a year.
Bench Time Fixed at 35 Days:
Bench time, the period during which employees are not assigned to any project, has been capped at 35 days.
What Is Bench Time?
In IT companies, most work is project-based. Large companies like TCS hire many employees, some of them work on projects while others wait for future project assignments. This waiting period is called Bench Time.
Under the new policy, employees who are not assigned to any project and are on the bench must dedicate 4 to 6 hours daily to upskilling themselves.
