Dr. Prasanalakshmi is widely recognised for her contribution in the concept of computational biomedical intelligence, an interdisciplinary framework that combines advanced machine learning, biomedical data analytics, and cognitive computing to revolutionise healthcare diagnostics, treatment personalisation, and public health surveillance, is widely acknowledged for having been developed by her groundbreaking work allows for predicting insights from intricate clinical and medical imaging databases, bridging the gap between computer science and life sciences.
She has played a key role in creating intelligent systems and scalable algorithms that assist data-driven decision making, streamline clinical workflows, and help detect diseases early in both India and abroad.
Dr. Prasanalakshmi Balaji, born Indian graduated at the Bharathidasan University, with a bachelor’s degree in chemistry. She later pursued post graduate studies at Asia's oldest prestigious technical public state, Anna University where she obtained her master’s degree and Ph.D. from research and development centre, Bharathiar University.
In 2022 she was first prize cash awarded for “Research and Innovation” by Deanship of Quality Affairs, King Khalid University, Saudi Arabia, and in 2025 she received a Lifetime Achievements Award place at Shaheed Sukhdev College of Business Studies, University of Delhi, in collaboration with the National Institute of Technology Patna and the University of Valladolid, Spain Currently, she is a research professor at the College of Computer Science, King Khalid University.
Dr. Prasanalakshmi was a Research Consultant at the Faculty of Science, Maejo University, Thailand. She has been appointed as a Distinguished Adjunct Faculty member in the Department of AI at Saveetha University, and as an Adjunct Senior Research Scientist at NeuroLabs International under the Dana Brain Health Institute, Iran.
Dr. Prasanalakshmi is also involved in the Cancer Immunology Project under the Universal Scientific Education and Research Network (USERN), Iran, and serves as an invited Visiting Professor at the School of Technologies, Cardiff Metropolitan University, UK.
