Polling for Kanina Municipal Committee vice-chairperson on June 20

The election for the post of vice-chairperson of the Kanina Municipal Committee (MC) has been scheduled for June 20. While giving this information, Kanina SDM Dr Jitendra Singh stated that newly elected representatives of the MC had taken their oath on March 25 in Panchkula. However, if any representative did not take the oath at that time, he/she would be administered the oath on June 20 at the Kanina MC office.

“To participate in election, candidates can file their nominations with one proposer and one seconder. A meeting regarding the vice-chairperson election will be held on June 20 at 1 pm at the Kanina MC office,” the SDM said.

He maintained that nomination papers would be accepted from 2 pm to 2.30 pm, followed by scrutiny from 2.30 pm to 2.40 pm. Withdrawal of nominations, if any, would be allowed between 2.40 pm and 3 pm. If required, voting will take place at 3 pm, and the results would be announced immediately after voting concludes, the SDM said.
