Bhubaneswar: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will unveil a comprehensive roadmap for the development of Odisha during his June 20 visit to Bhubaneswar, where he will attend a mega event marking the first anniversary celebrations of the BJP government in the state, official sources said, Wednesday.

Addressing media here, BJP state president Manmohan Samal said that the Prime Minister will release two key documents — the Odisha Vision 2036 and 2047 – on the occasion. The Prime Minister will also lay foundation stones for various development projects, dedicate completed ones to the public, and felicitate beneficiaries of both Central and state welfare schemes.

Additionally, individuals who have made significant contributions in the social sector will be honoured on the occasion, Samal said. A grand roadshow and Triranga Yatra are planned from Biju Patnaik International Airport to Janata Maidan — the main venue for the state government’s first anniversary celebrations — on the day. This will be Modi’s sixth visit to Odisha in the past year. He is scheduled to arrive at Bhubaneswar airport at 3pm Friday, where he will be given a grand welcome and public felicitation, Samal said.

Highlighting the Centre’s commitment to Odisha, Samal said that under the Prime Minister’s leadership, several prestigious national-level events — including the Director General of Police Conference, Navy Day, Pravasi Bharatiya Divas, and National Health Mission programmes — have been successfully hosted in the state.
