Sanjay Verma None Other Than Raj Kushwaha? Police Bust Mystery Behind New Accused In Raja's Killing
New details emerged in the Raja Raghuvanshi murder case after a new name appeared other than Sonam and Raj Kushwaha who were the prime accused till now.
It was revealed that Sonam was in extensive touch with a man named Sanjay Verma during the entire episode. In a span of a month, she exchanged 234 calls with Verma.
Amid speculation over the fresh set of details, the Meghalaya police have busted the mystery behind the identity of this new character.
According to the police, Sanjay Verma is none other than Raj Kushwaha, Sonam's lover who hatched the plan for Raja's murder.
Sonam had saved Raj's number as "Sanjay Verma", possibly to avoid any suspicion, reported NDTV. The records accessed by police showed that Sonam and Sanjay exchanged 239 calls within a span of 39 days. Sanjay's mobile number is currently switched off.
On Wednesday, Sonam's brother, Govind said he does not know any man named Sanjay. "...I don't know anything about Sanjay Verma. I have also learned today that Sanjay's name is also coming up in this....," he said.
The same day, a team of Meghalaya police questioned the family members of Sonam Raguvashi and Raj Kushwaha.
The Special Investigation Team from Meghalaya visited Sonam's Indore's parents' house in Govind Nagar Kharcha area,and spent about two hours inside, reported PTI.
Later, it visited Kushwaha's house and questioned his mother Chunni Devi for half an hour.
As per the local police, Kushwaha who is accused of plotting the murder is merely a class 12th dropout, yet worked as an accountant in Sonam's family business. It was then that he came close to Sonam.
The Meghalaya police team asked the family members of Sonam and Kushwaha about their alleged relationship and whether there was any change in Sonam's behaviour after her marriage to Raja Raghuvanshi, sources said.
They also visited the office and warehouse of Sonam's family firm, and questioned a few people working there.
