Himachal Minister's Son Announces Father's Intent To Resign From Sukhu Cabinet, But 1 Hour Later...
A major political development unfolded in Himachal Pradesh, with reports suggesting that senior Congress leader and Animal Husbandry Minister Chander Kumar may soon resign from Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu’s cabinet. The speculation gained traction after Kumar’s son and former MLA Neeraj Bharti made a bold claim via social media.
In a Facebook post on Wednesday, Neeraj accused the Congress government of being influenced by intermediaries, asserting that such an environment renders a minister's position meaningless. He added that his father is expected to submit his resignation on Thursday, June 19, in protest.
Neeraj Bharti Softens Stand
However, in a twist, Bharti appeared to backtrack later that evening, posting a follow-up message stating that “Chaudhary Sahab” — referring to Chander Kumar — had received certain assurances and would soon meet with the Chief Minister to discuss the matter.

Conflicting Signals on the Ground
Interestingly, Agriculture Minister Chander Kumar was seen accompanying CM Sukhu on Wednesday during official visits to Shillai and Theog in Shimla. Despite the joint public appearances, Neeraj Bharti’s claims have stirred speculation and political chatter.
This is not the first time as Chander Kumar has previously voiced dissatisfaction with his party. He openly criticised the Congress leadership for delays in structuring the party organisation in Himachal Pradesh, remarking that the party had become “paralysed” in the state — a statement that triggered widespread attention.
