WATCH: MP CM Mohan Yadav Announces ₹1,500 Monthly For Ladli Behnas From Diwali
Indore (Madhya Pradesh): Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav announced that 1.27 crore women under the Ladli Behna Yojana will start receiving ₹1,500 per month before Diwali.
The announcement was made on Thursday during a video conference from the Indore Collectorate. The CM was addressing a program organized in village Taloon (Barwani) on the occasion of World Sickle Cell Day.
CM Yadav assured that the government is committed to its promise of providing ₹3,000 per month to the women beneficiaries by 2028.
“We began the scheme with ₹1,000 per month, increased it to ₹1,250, and now we are raising it to ₹1,500 before Diwali. We will fulfill our pledge of reaching ₹3,000 per month,” he said firmly.
This move is part of the state government's ongoing efforts to empower women and support families financially.
CM slams Jitu Patwari
CM Yadav also hit back at Madhya Pradesh Congress Chief Jitu Patwari, for accusing the government of misusing borrowed funds meant for the Ladli Behna scheme for political extravagance.
Speaking to the media, CM Yadav strongly condemned Patwari’s remarks.
“The state Congress president should be ashamed of using such language. He should maintain dignity in politics and choose his words wisely,” Yadav said.
Patwari had recently alleged that the state government was misusing funds, borrowed in the name of the Ladli Behna scheme, towards flashy publicity and political events.
