MSEDCL Launches ‘T&P Register’ Online Module To Streamline Safety Equipment Distribution For Technical Staff
Mumbai: In a significant move aimed at enhancing workplace safety, the Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited (MSEDCL) has launched a dedicated online module to streamline the provision of personal and common safety equipment for its technical staff.
The module, titled ‘T&P Register’, was officially inaugurated on Wednesday, by CMD Lokesh Chandra at a special function held at the Divisional Commissioner’s office in Nashik.
The new digital system will facilitate the timely and transparent distribution of essential safety gear such as rubber gloves, gumboots, safety belts, raincoats, testers, screwdrivers, and various testing tools. These items are crucial for technical employees involved in maintenance and repair work across MSEDCL’s rural and urban branches, substations, testing departments, and field units.
Until now, requests for safety equipment were made through a traditional paperwork-based process, often causing delays in procurement and supply. Recognising the urgency and critical need for safety tools in the field, CMD Chandra had directed the development of a fully online system.
Jointly created by MSEDCL’s Training and Safety and Information Technology departments, the module is now available through the company’s Employee Portal, a statement released by MSEDCL, said.
Speaking at the launch, Chandra emphasized the importance of safety in power operations and urged all technical staff to strictly use protective equipment while on duty.
“Regardless of the situation, safety must never be compromised. Employees must use proper gear and ensure all safety protocols are followed before undertaking any repair or maintenance work,” he said.
The online T&P Register Module enables employees to place equipment requests with a single click. It also maintains real-time inventory records, tracks distribution, and monitors demand and supply at the divisional level. In addition, the system includes provisions for replacing expired or damaged equipment, ensuring that staff always have access to high-quality safety tools.
Senior MSEDCL officials present at the event included Dilip Jagdale (Joint Managing Director – Konkan Region), Sachin Talewar (Director – Operations/Projects), Rajendra Pawar (Director – Human Resources), Prasad Reshme (Executive Director), and Arvind Bhadikar (Chief General Manager – Training and Safety).
