In pics: Karisma Kapoor’s son breaks down at father Sunjay Kapur’s funeral as he pays final respects
Industrialist Sunjay Kapur, actor Karisma Kapoor’s ex-husband, shockingly passed away at the age of 53 in England on June 12. Reports claim that Kapur suffered a massive cardiac arrest which took his life. Now, after almost a week of his death, family and friends have gathered to bid their final goodbye to Kapur as his funeral took place in Delhi on June 19. The last rites were conducted at the Lodhi Road Crematorium in New Delhi. A video has been circulating online featuring Karisma, clad in a white suit, solemnly paying floral tributes at the ceremony, accompanied by her children, Samaira and Kiaan. In one of the videos, Sunjay’s son Kiaan, whom he shared with Karisma, broke into tears while the actress tried consoling him.
In the visuals which have surfaced online, Kiaan is seen standing next to his father’s mortal remains, bidding an emotional goodbye. As Kiaan breaks into tears, his mother Karisma holds him to console her son. In another video, Karisma is seen kneeling beside Sunjay’s mortal remains in a quiet moment of remembrance.

Apart from Karisma, pictures of Kareena Kapoor Khan and Saif Ali Khan marking their presence at Sunjay Kapur’s funeral have also been widely shared on the internet. Earlier in the day, the actor was spotted at Mumbai’s private airport with her children as they headed to Delhi for the funeral.
Further, a formal prayer gathering for Sunjay Kapur has been planned for June 22 at the Taj Palace Hotel, New Delhi, from 4 pm to 5 pm.
Meanwhile, Sunjay married Karisma Kapoor in 2003. The couple spent over a decade together before filing for divorce in 2014, which was officially finalized in 2016. They share two children — Samaira, 19, and Kiaan, 13.
