Mumbai: An accused has been arrested for threatening and raping a 17-year-old minor girl living in Andheri on the basis of her obscene pictures. The accused had filed a complaint with the police after the girl's obscene pictures were spread on social media Instagram and defamed her.

The victim is 17 years old and lives in Andheri. In June last year, she was introduced to Saurabh Jaiswal (20), a young man living in Santoshbhuvan area of Nalasopara. Jaiswal befriended her and took her to his house in Santoshbhuvan, Nalasopara in November 2024. At that time, he forcibly kissed the victim and took his picture.

He started blackmailing her on the basis of this picture. If she did not have physical intercourse, he would send this picture to her family's WhatsApp and threatened to throw acid on her face if she told anyone about this. Due to this, the victim was scared. Taking advantage of this, the accused forcibly asked for obscene photos from her. He started raping her repeatedly, threatening to make these obscene photos viral.

The victim had endured this torture under pressure. Later, she got tired of this and broke all relations with him. Due to this, the accused Jaiswal, who was angry, spread her obscene photos on Instagram.

Therefore, the victim told her family about this incident and filed a complaint at the MIDC police station in Andheri. Since the first incident of torture took place in Nalasopara, the case was later transferred to the Pelhar police station in Nalasopara.

A case has been registered against the accused at the Pelhar police station under sections 4, 8, 12 of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act (POCSO) and sections 66 (a), 67 (d) of the Information Technology Act.
