Vij listens to residents, orders probe into fraud, security, harassment cases
Haryana’s Energy, Transport and Labour Minister Anil Vij today issued directives to the officials concerned while addressing grievances of residents from Ambala Cantonment at his residence in Ambala Cantt.
A woman from Ambala Cantonment submitted a complaint to Minister Vij, stating that a man residing near her house had circulated her mobile number along with obscene messages on social media. She alleged that this act was carried out intentionally to defame her.
Vij immediately directed DSP Ramesh Kumar, who was present at the time, to register a case and take strict action against the accused. In another case, a woman from Vashisht Nagar informed the minister that she had sold her ancestral property but had not received her share of Rs 16 lakh. Vij directed the DSP of Ambala Cantt to investigate the matter.
Similarly, a man from the Ambala Cantonment Sadar area complained that he had been duped by a travel agent from Kurukshetra in the name of sending his son abroad.
He claimed the agent took Rs 5.10 lakh with the promise of facilitating the move but neither sent his son nor returned the money. The minister instructed the police to take action in this case as well.
Residents of the Housing Board area also raised concerns about rising incidents of theft and the presence of anti-social elements. They requested increased patrolling in their locality.
Responding to the concern, Vij directed the DSP Cantt to enhance police patrolling and take appropriate action.
The PWD Mechanical Workers’ Union also met the minister and submitted a memorandum of demands, raising several issues in a detailed format. In addition, a number of other complaints were brought before the Energy Minister by members of the public.
Vij instructed officials of the departments concerned to take necessary action in each matter.
Municipal Council Vice-President Lalta Prasad, DSP Ramesh Kumar and officials from various departments were also present on the occasion.
