Royal Jordanian Resumes Direct Flights Between Amman And Mumbai After 10 Years; Delhi Services To Restart In September
Mumbai: Jordan’s flag carrier Royal Jordanian Airlines commenced a nonstop route between Amman and Mumbai on Thursday. This comes after the airline’s significant announcement to relaunch the Amman to Delhi and Mumbai direct routes after ten years.
On Thursday, Royal Jordanian Airlines restarted its services between Amman’s Queen Alia International Airport (AMM) and Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport in Mumbai (BOM). The airline had stopped its services to India in 2014 with the last flight to Mumbai in September and to Delhi in October. After Mumbai, the airline is expected to restart its services from Delhi in September.

This strategic addition is said to strengthen connectivity between India and Jordan while offering seamless onward travel to over 50 destinations across the Middle East, Gulf, and North Africa.

The first Royal Jordanian flight was provided a warm welcome at CSMIA with a lamp lighting ceremony and the traditional welcoming of the flight’s crew. “We remain committed to expanding Mumbai’s global air network by facilitating connections that foster tourism, trade, and cultural exchange. Backed by world-class infrastructure, efficient services, and a passenger-centric approach, we look forward to offering travellers a smooth and enriching transit experience as they explore the rich heritage and scenic landscapes of Jordan and beyond,” a spokesperson of the airport said.
The airline said that the new route will open the door for Indian tourists to experience the breathtaking rose-red city of Petra, float in the healing waters of the Dead Sea, and explore the dramatic desert landscapes of Wadi Rum.
