CCI delegation calls on CM

JAMMU, June 21: To discuss various issues pertaining to trade and industry, a delegation of Chamber of Commerce & Industry (CCI) led by its president Arun Gupta called upon Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, here today.
During interaction, Arun Gupta raised various issues and projects which are still pending.
The projects like beautification of River Tawi Front, River Tawi Artificial Lake and the Heritage Complex at Mubarak Mandi have not seen the light of the day.
They demanded that Patnitop should be developed on modern lines and allowing construction of five star hotels and Restaurants to attract the tourists.
He said, “The development of religious tourists circuit in Jammu is the need of the hour and steps should be taken to impress upon the pilgrims of Mata Vaishno Devi to visit these sites. The Government should launch a promotion campaign to promote these religious tourists circuit available in Jammu like Raghunath Mandir, Jamwant Cave near Peermitha, Pandav Cave in Akhnoor, Shahdra Sharief in Rajouri, Nangla Sahib in Poonch, Budha Amarnath in Mandi, Shivkhori, Uttervehni, Sarthal Devi, Sukrala Mata, Sudh Mahadev and Machail Mata. ”
He also requested the Chief Minister that infrastructure like roads etc. should be developed in these areas.
Gupta briefed the Chief Minister that shops were allotted by Jammu Development Authority to some shopkeepers at Shiv Market Railway Station after depositing the requisite amount as advertised by the Jammu Development Authority at that time, but lease deeds have not been executed till date. Further the lease deeds in respect of the allottees of Sabzi Mandi/Fruit Mandi which have expired should be renewed further after charging reasonable premium.
He also requested the Chief Minister that the shopkeepers whose shops have come under the flyover project from Kunjwani-Satwari upto Government College Gandhinagar should be rehabilitated and the businessmen who were dislocated by the construction of flyover from Canal Road to BSF School were promised by the then administration to provide them alternate sites for carrying over their business after charging reasonable premium but their case is still pending. The same should be resolved once for all.
While replying on the issues, the Chief Minister said that the ongoing projects shall be completed very soon and the religious tourist circuits will be developed to attract the tourists in Jammu.
The other office bearers present in the meeting include Rajeev Gupta and Rajesh Gupta.
