International Yoga Day: Sonepat keeps ancient tradition alive
Education Minister Mahipal Dhanda on Saturday inaugurated the 11th International Yoga Day celebrations by lighting a lamp in Sonepat. Addressing participants on the occasion, he said all must do yoga regularly.
The Education Minister said yoga was not just a meditation or exercise activity, but it means union. “Yoga is a path through which a man can work for human welfare by making his life successful by connecting with himself and God,” the Education Minister said. “Yoga is a part of our ancient tradition and culture, through which our ancestors used to keep their body healthy. Today, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is taking our tradition and culture to the whole world through yoga.”
“I salute to the Prime Minister and thank him that today the whole world is doing yoga together because of him. It was due to his efforts yoga got international recognition. The whole world knows that if we have to stay healthy, we have to make yoga a part of our daily routine,” Dhanda asserted.
“Our goal should also be to take our tradition and culture to the world through yoga,” he said, while adding, “There is only one thought in our blood and that is there should be victory of dharma, destruction of unrighteousness, prevalence of goodwill among human beings and welfare of the world,” the minister said.
“We always think about the welfare of the entire mankind without thinking about our country or ourselves. We can give a new direction to the world with this idea,” he said.
The Education Minister further said, “At present, India is revealing its knowledge and talent in every field of the world. Today, every country of the world wants to move forward on the path of development with India and this has been possible under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. We have changed our policies and working style.”
