UIDAI New System: Now you can update everything from phone number to address in Aadhaar sitting at home with the new system
The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) has developed a new system that will get your address and other details from birth certificate, matriculation certificate, driving license, passport, PAN, PDS and MNREGA databases, which will not only make the life of citizens easier but will also reduce the possibility of using fake documents to get Aadhaar.
UIDAI New System: Aadhaar is being used as proof for every important work in today’s time, for which a photocopy or digital copy is required. But in a few weeks you will not need to give a photocopy of Aadhaar. You will be able to share the entire Aadhaar or mask Aadhaar using a new app based on QR code.
Not only this, by November, apart from submitting your biometric details, you will not even need to go to Aadhaar centers to update the address and submit the details. You will be able to complete this work sitting at home.
Actually, the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) has developed a new system, which will get your address and other details from the birth certificate, matriculation certificate, driving license, passport, PAN, PDS and MNREGA database, which will not only make the life of the citizens easier but will also reduce the possibility of using fake documents to get Aadhaar. There is also talk of extending this new system to the electricity bill database, which will make it even simpler.
Soon you will be able to do all the work from home
UIDAI Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Bhuvnesh Kumar told the Times of India that the agency has developed a new app and about 2,000 out of one lakh machines have now come on the new tool. He said that soon you will be able to do all the work other than giving fingerprint and iris from home. This includes updating address, phone number, changing name and even correcting wrong date of birth.
All work will be done with just one app
The move to allow QR code based mobile-to-mobile or app-to-app Aadhaar transfer is being considered important to prevent misuse and it will be used for many purposes. For example, this app can be used for authentication from check-in in hotels to moving train. He said that this app gives maximum user control over its data and it can be shared only with consent. It can also be used by sub-registrars and registrars at the time of property registration, where frauds often occur.
What is UIDAI doing regarding Aadhaar?
Kumar said that UIDAI is making state governments aware to use Aadhaar to verify the credentials of people coming for property registration, so that some fraud can be prevented. UIDAI has started talks with CBSE and other examination boards to ensure biometric and other data updates of children, which is required to be done between five to seven and then between 15 to 17 years.
At the same time, a special plan has been made to complete 8 crore missed updates for the first update for children aged 5 to 7 years and 10 crore missed updates for the second update. Apart from this, UIDAI is also working with various organizations, such as security agencies, hotels, to cover those institutions for which it is not mandatory to use Aadhaar.
