'Allu Arjun As Shaktimaan?': Makers Clairfy If Ranveer Singh Has Been Replaced

A wave of excitement recently swept through the internet after speculation emerged suggesting that Allu Arjun might be in talks to play India’s most iconic superhero, Shaktimaan. The rumour sent fans into a frenzy, especially after actor Mukesh Khanna , the original face of the beloved 90s character, spoke highly of Allu Arjun’s screen presence. But as anticipation built, the makers have now categorically shut down the speculation.

Director and Makers Set the Record Straight

The upcoming Shaktimaan film, being helmed by Minnal Murali director Basil Joseph, has always had Ranveer Singh in mind for the titular role. A close source connected to the project made it clear that Ranveer remains the only choice for Shaktimaan.

"No one else is doing Shaktimaan. It is Ranveer Singh and no one else. Whoever is spreading rumours of his replacement clearly has their own agenda," the insider told Bollywood Hungama.

To further quash the ongoing rumours, director Basil Joseph himself confirmed: “Shaktimaan will be made only with Ranveer Singh.” His brief yet firm statement silenced all chatter around any potential recasting.

Mukesh Khanna’s Comments Sparked Buzz

The source of this latest rumour seems to trace back to a comment made by Mukesh Khanna last year on his YouTube channel. While not confirming anything officially, Khanna had spoken favourably about Allu Arjun’s potential to embody Shaktimaan.

“Main commit nahi kar raha hun, bol bhi nahi raha hun, judge bhi nahi kar raha hun lekin Shaktimaan ban sakta hai ye. Real life mein bhi acchi look hai acchi height hai… Inke baare mein kaha jaa sakta hai, socha jaa sakta hai ki inko lo," he said, sparking speculative theories across fan forums and social media.

Khanna Also Applauds Pushpa 2

Khanna, who has been known for his candid takes, also praised Allu Arjun’s upcoming film Pushpa 2 and its production quality.

“Film sirf paisa phenkne se nahi banti… every frame speaks they have done a good job. When you have conviction in yourself, you convince the audience," he stated, appreciating the effort and aesthetics of the much-awaited sequel.

Despite the praise, Khanna made no official endorsement, and the production has reconfirmed its unwavering commitment to Ranveer Singh as India’s first homegrown cinematic superhero.
