Indore: Two Arrested With MD Drugs Worth ₹60 Lakh
Indore (Madhya Pradesh): City crime branch arrested two men with MD drugs worth Rs 60 lakh in the international market, an officer said on Sunday. They had brought drugs from other cities to supply in the city.
According to DCP (crime) Rajesh Kumar Tripathi, a team has been constituted to keep an eye on the people indulging in drug supply in the city.
The team was searching for the suspects when information was received that two persons in a car would supply MD drugs to someone in the city. Based on the information, the crime branch team managed to trace the location of the accused and caught them after cordoning off the area near Rajkumar Sabji Mandi on MR-4 Road.
They were in a car and allegedly revealed their names as Imran Ajmeri and Arif Ujjaini, residents of Khajrana area of the city.
They informed the crime branch officials that they are addicts of drugs and brought MD drugs from other cities at cheap rates to supply it at a higher price in the city. During a search, about 57 grams of MD drugs were recovered.
The car in which they were traveling and two mobile phones were seized from the possession and a case under section 8/22 NDPS Act was registered against them. Police said that both the accused were booked for supplying drugs and for their involvement in other crimes in the past.
