The Chinese pistols which were used by the terrorists for targeted attacks have also been replaced by Turkish PX5 pistols.

This has come to light during recent attempts by Pakistan to smuggle weapons and narcotics into neighbouring Punjab from the International Border. Some of the consignments of Turkey-made weapons have been seized by police in Punjab, sources told the Excelsior.
Turkey-made drones came into limelight during Operation Sindoor which were used by Pakistan to retaliate attacks on terror infrastructure and military establishments by the Indian Armed Forces. However, the Turkish drones failed to cause any impact and were shot down by the Indian Air Defence System within minutes of entering into the country’s airspace.
During the month of June alone, Punjab Police have thwarted four attempts from Pakistan to smuggle Turkey-made PX5 pistols from across the border using Turkish drones, the sources said, adding only yesterday, three PX5 pistols were recovered by Punjab Police in two different operations in Amritsar district.
On June 5, Punjab Police recovered four PX5 pistols in Amritsar which had also been drone-dropped by Pakistan-based terror handler Noor Ahmed alias Noora.
Punjab Police have confirmed that pistols were to be used by local operatives to execute targeted killings and terror activities in the State.
However, the drone activities haven’t been reported for past quite some time along the International Border in Jammu sector except during Operation Sindoor. The drones used for smuggling weapons, narcotics and cash along the borders in Jammu, Samba and Kathua districts earlier were Chinese-made. Pistols sent from across on the drones were also Chinese, the sources pointed out.
“No major drone activity has been reported on the International Border for the purpose of smuggling of weapons in Jammu sector during the past few months but security forces remained alert to thwart any such designs,’’ the sources said.
However, they asserted that Turkish drones and pistols don’t pose any threat to security forces who are very well capable of intercepting and destroying the aerial objects. Pistols are mostly used by the terrorists for targeted killings, they pointed out.
