Congress aims to strengthen grassroots presence in Patti

Senior Congress leader Vikas Sangar, recently appointed as the party coordinator for the Patti Vidhan Sabha constituency, urged the party workers to maintain close contact with people to understand their problems.

He expressed these views while addressing a meeting of party workers in Harike on Sunday. Sangar said the ruling AAP has lost the confidence of the people and is luring them with false promises.

Harminder Singh Gill, former MLA from the Patti constituency, in his address, said the party has initiated efforts to strengthen its organisational structure at the grassroots level by forming committees. These committees will include senior leaders, youth leaders, office-bearers from various Scheduled Caste (SC) and Backward Class (BC) groups, as well as social media representatives. He added that such committees are being formed in all villages and towns across the constituency.

Gill added that AAP won the Assembly elections on alleged false promises and failed to fulfil its promises made to the people.

As a result, the public has become aware of the true nature of the AAP government. He added that with AAP losing public trust, people are eagerly awaiting the forthcoming elections to teach the party a strong lesson. Other party leaders also addressed the gathering on the occasion.
