About the Film
Sitaare Zameen Par is described as a spiritual sequel to Aamir’s acclaimed 2007 film Taare Zameen Par, which featured Darsheel Safary as Ishaan, a misunderstood child with dyslexia. Tisca Chopra and Vipin Sharma also starred in the original, which became a huge hit.
This time, Aamir plays Gulshan, a disgraced basketball coach mandated by the court to teach the sport to a group of neurodivergent individuals — a character that’s the antithesis of his compassionate teacher Ram Shankar Nikumbh in Taare Zameen Par. Genelia Deshmukh plays his wife, Sunita, in the film.
