Sachin Tendulkar criticises Yashasvi Jaiswal and Ravindra Jadeja for denying Jasprit Bumraj ‘9 wickets’ with fielding errors

New Delhi: Indian pacer Jasprit Bumrah left nobody disappointed with his fiery spell at the Headingley, and he eventually had a well-deserved five-wicket haul in the first innings of the match, which also earned him the applause of the maestro himself -Sachin Tendulkar. The Indian cricket’s legend posted on social media so as to illuminate the brilliance of the pacer notwithstanding the fact that he has been subjected to numerous frustrating setbacks.

As a matter of fact, luck, or rather the absence of it, was the only thing that could separate Bumrah and a haul-of-a-lifetime. On Day 2 he dismissed Harry Brook off a no-ball and Ravindra Jadeja, who is usually a good fielder, dropped a catch off his bowling, with Yashasvi Jaiswal also dropping 2 more catches.

All the three missed opportunities were against Bumrah, and cost India runs and momentum. Nevertheless, despite the disappointed efforts he was serene, purposeful, threatening at all times during his magic spell.

When he looked up in a silent relief, his fielders flocked to him as they cheered. This was his 12th five-for in Tests abroad and equalized him to the 12 five-servers made by a legendary all-rounder Kapil Dev. Having won the first innings lead, India will come out to show an equally good batting performance so as to exert pressure on the English batsmen in the fourth innings.
