Three members of a family, including wife son, 18, were found dead with gunshot injuries inside an Fortuner SUV in Punjab’s Patiala district on Sunday.

The tragic incident is a reminder of a suicide pact of Dehradun family of seven in Panchkula, reported only a month back, and had shocked the local community and underlines the devastating impact of financial stress and mental struggles.

Police suspect Sandeep Singh used his licensed pistol to shoot his wife and son, then died by suicide.

Bodies found by a tipper truck driver who noticed the stationary SUV and alerted police.
