Madhya Pradesh June 23 Weather Update: Strong Monsoon System Active; Heavy Rain Alert Issued In Indore, Ujjain & More

Indore (Madhya Pradesh): The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD), has issued a red alert for heavy rainfall in 4 districts including Ujjain for the first time in this season. An orange alert has been issued for Indore and nearby areas.

On Monday, a red alert for extremely heavy rainfall has been issued in Ujjain, Shajapur, Agar-Malwa, and Rajgarh. The four districts are predicted to receive rainfall potentially exceeding 8 inches in 24 hours.

Additionally, an orange alert has been issued Neemuch, Mandsaur, Indore and Dewas. Heavy rainfall is also expected in Gwalior, Sheopur, Shivpuri, Guna, Ashoknagar, Ratlam, Sehore, Narmadapuram, Vidisha and Sagar. The period of storm and rain will continue in other districts including Bhopal.

2 inches of rainfall in Tikamgarh

On Sunday, Tikamgarh received 2 inches of rain. One and a half inches of rain was recorded in Mandla, 1.4 in Narmadapuram, 1 inch in Gwalior, and 45 inches in Bhopal-Raisen.

Malajkhand of Balaghat received rainfall more than half an inch. At the same time, half an inch of rain fell in Ratlam, Pachmarhi.

Strong system active in Madhya Pradesh

A low-pressure area and cyclonic circulation is the reason behind rainfall across the state. Rain is predicted in Bhopal, Indore, Ujjain, Gwalior, Chambal, Sagar, Jabalpur, Shahdol, Narmadapuram, and Rewa for next four days.

24 June: There is an orange alert for very heavy rain in Vidisha, Raisen, Mandla and Balaghat. There may be up to 4 inches of rain in 24 hours. There may be heavy rain in Gwalior, Bhind, Morena, Sheopur, Guna, Ashoknagar, Rajgarh, Sehore, Sagar, Tikamgarh, Chhatarpur, Satna, Sidhi, Singrauli, Anuppur. Yellow alert has been issued in other districts including Bhopal, Indore, Ujjain, Jabalpur.

25 June: There may be very heavy rain in Dindori, Raisen-Sagar. There is an alert of heavy rain in Mauganj, Singrauli, Anuppur, Mandla, Balaghat, Seoni, Chhindwara, Pandhurna, Ujjain, Sehore, Vidisha. Yellow alert for rain has been issued in Bhopal, Indore, Gwalior, Jabalpur and other districts.
