President Droupadi Murmu Addresses ICAI National Students’ Convocation 2025
President Droupadi Murmu on June 23, addressed the National Students' Convocation 2025 of the Institute of Cost Accountants of India (ICAI) in an inspiring speech to graduating students and professionals.
President Murmu in her keynote address at the event praised the Institute for its unflinching commitment to excellence in cost and management accountancy education. She recognised the critical role that cost accountants play in framing the economic profile of the country and appealed to the graduates to exhibit the highest level of integrity and professionalism in their professional pursuits.
She requested students to contribute in non-financial positions—policy, taxation, auditing, and environmental responsibility. She asked students to maintain integrity and assist India in becoming a developed nation by 2047, identifying cost accountants as instruments for this mission.
Speaking at a convergence of students, teachers, and industry leaders, President Murmu underlined the need to adjust to changing business scenarios in a globalised world and utilise technological innovation. She urged the students to keep learning and innovating and to remember that their expertise is going to play a critical role in India's progress to become a developed economy.
The convocation also included the bestowing of awards and certificates on meritorious students for their academic and professional excellence.
