Samay Raina resurrects ‘India’s Got Latent’ on YouTube months after controversy

Samay Raina has quietly made his comeback to the platform that launched his career. The comedian made a return to YouTube with his channel India’s Got Latent Clips. The channel features episodes of the show that Raina had taken down when controversy erupted against the comedy show earlier this year in February.
Storm brewed against India’s Got Latent when a guest judge Ranveer Allahbadia made a lewd comment on one of the episodes about parental sex. He asked a participant: “Would you rather watch your parents have sex every day for the rest of your life, or would you join in once and stop it forever?" His question shocked the panel and host Raina was even heard asking, “Kya ho gaya hai Ranveer bhai ko? (What has happened to Ranveer?)"
The backlash on social media was swift and intense, prompting official investigations against every judge present on the episode—Allahbadia, Raina, Apoorva Makhija, Ashish Chanchlani, and Jaspreet Singh. The Assam and Mumbai police, as well as the National Commission for Women (NCW), summoned the group for questioning.
Allahbadia later issued an apology for his comments. In a video posted on X (formerly Twitter), he said, "My comment wasn't just inappropriate, it wasn't even funny. Comedy is not my forte. I'm just here to say sorry.”
Amid the immense backlash, Raina—who was still on his US Tour—took down the episodes of India’s Got Latent. "Everything that is happening has been too much for me to handle. I have removed all 'India's Got Latent' videos from my channel. My only objective was to make people laugh and have a good time,” he wrote on X.
