Maharashtra Crime: Elderly Couple Allegedly Assaulted, Forcibly Evicted By Sons In Palghar's Vasai; Case Registered Under BNS

Palghar, Maharashtra: An elderly couple in their seventies was allegedly assaulted and forcibly evicted from their residence by their two sons in Maharashtra’s Palghar district, officials said on Monday.

The police have registered a case against the accused sons and their wives under relevant provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), including Section 115(2) (voluntarily causing hurt), Section 351(2) (criminal intimidation), and Section 352 (intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of peace), a police official informed.

The incident occurred on June 16 in the Patil Ali area of Vasai, where the victims were reportedly subjected to repeated physical assault before being expelled from their home.

Following the incident, a volunteer from a local non-governmental organisation extended temporary shelter to the displaced couple. As of now, no arrests have been made in the case, and further investigation is underway, the official added.
