These works have been banned in Delhi from July 1, issued orders from MCD to NDMC
Road digging has been banned in Delhi from July 1 to September 30 due to monsoon. The Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) and the New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) have issued this order to avoid waterlogging and accidents. Excavation will be allowed only in case of emergency after the approval of competent authorities.
New Delhi. From July 1, no permission will be given for road cutting for any work in the capital Delhi. Due to monsoon, Delhi Municipal Corporation and New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) have issued orders to ban permission for road cutting. According to the local bodies, there will be no permission from July 1 to September 30 in the monsoon.
If there is an emergency situation, then road cutting will be allowed only after the approval of the NDMC chairman and the competent authority of MCD. It is worth mentioning that in the capital Delhi, this permission will be required for digging the road by various agencies for laying pipelines, wires, cables, optical fibers and other underground work or for repairs.
Possibility of accidents due to waterlogging and digging in monsoon
MCD and NDMC give this permission for the roads coming under their respective jurisdiction. In this, the concerned agency or company has to repair the road through the road cutting fee deposited for digging the road. From time to time, it is also raised that the bad condition of the roads is due to frequent digging of roads and lack of coordination between the agencies. Since there is a possibility of accidents due to waterlogging and digging in monsoon, the bodies adopt this process every year. So that no untoward incident happens.
Now the roads will not be dug for that work
NDMC has said in an order issued by it that even if permission has been given earlier but the work related to that project has not started yet, then now the roads will not be dug for that work. Let us tell you that NDMC maintains 1298 km of road network including 52 roundabouts.
At the same time, MCD maintains more than 25 thousand kilometers of roads. A senior official of the corporation said that permission for road cutting has been banned from July 1 to September 30. All regional engineers have been asked to monitor this.
