Most Runs by an Indian in Debut Match as Test Captain
Gill has now become the third Indian cricketer to score the most runs in his debut Test match as captain, accumulating 155 runs across both innings.

Pant Nears Ton as India Extend Lead
Wicket-keeper batter KL Rahul scored his ninth Test century in the second session on Day 4 of the first Test against England at Headingley, Leeds. After missing out on a big score in the first innings, he made the most of his second chance with a composed and patient knock.
At the other end, Rishabh Pant has played a counter-attacking innings and is approaching a well-deserved century. By the 62nd over, India were 234/3, with their lead stretching to 240 runs.
Captain Shubman Gill, who impressed in the first innings, couldn’t replicate his form and was dismissed early on Day 4 for just 8 runs.
