Satara Shocker! Man Kills Wife, Hides Body Under Bed; Tries To Attack Brother-In-law
In a shocking incident in Yadogopal Peth, Satara city, a man allegedly murdered his wife on suspicion of infidelity and hid her body under the bed. The incident took place on Friday morning between 8 and 10 am.
The deceased has been identified as Anjali Rajendra Shinde, a resident of Karanje Peth, while the accused is her husband, Rajendra Shinde (32), a resident of Panmalewadi in Satara taluka. After the murder, Shinde allegedly attempted to attack Anjali’s brother, Shreyas Anilkumar Patil (20), who had arrived at the house in the evening.
According to police, Rajendra and Anjali had been married for 12 years and were living in Yadogopal Peth. Rajendra was reportedly addicted to alcohol. For the past several days, he had been arguing with Anjali over suspicions about her character. On Friday morning, the couple had a heated argument, which Anjali informed her brother about over the phone.
Accused Tried To Attack Brother-In-law
Later that day, between 8 and 10 am, Rajendra allegedly killed Anjali and hid her body under the bed. He remained in the house, reportedly under the influence of alcohol, for the rest of the day.
Concerned about not being able to reach his sister by phone, Shreyas visited the house in the evening. Upon entering, he discovered his sister’s body under the bed and raised an alarm. At that moment, Rajendra came at him with a knife. A struggle ensued between the two, during which Rajendra sustained injuries and fell unconscious.
Shreyas immediately informed the Shahupuri police. A team arrived at the scene, admitted Rajendra to the district government hospital, and sent Anjali’s body for post-mortem. Based on Shreyas’ complaint, a case has been registered at the Shahupuri police station.
Police officials said that no visible injuries were found on Anjali’s body. It is currently unclear how the murder was committed. Her viscera has been preserved, and the post-mortem report is awaited.
“Only after Rajendra regains consciousness will we be able to get more information about how the murder was committed,” said Shahupuri police inspector Sachin Mhetre. Further investigation is underway.
