FWICE Demands BAN On Diljit Dosanjh In India For Working With Pakistani Actress Hania Aamir In Sardaar Ji 3

The Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE) has called for a complete ban on actor-singer Diljit Dosanjh's projects in India after he dropped the trailer of his upcoming Punjabi film, Sardaar Ji 3, featuring Pakistani actress Hania Aamir.

Post the Pahalgam attack, Indian film federations had unanimously decided to ban all Pakistani artists in the country, and had also threatened to boycott Indian artists who wished to collaborate with Pakistani artists. But disregarding the decision, Diljit announced his next film, Sardaar Ji 3, with Hania Aamir, and also stated that the film would release overseas only, and not in India.

However, his move upset the Indian audience as well as film bodies. FWICE Presidence, BN Tiwari, told Hindustan Times, "By working with a Pakistani actor, Diljit has hurt Indian sentiments. He has disrespected the sentiments of the nation and insulted the sacrifice of our brave soldiers. His preference for Pakistani talent over Indian artists raises serious questions about his loyalty and priorities."

He went on to say, "We have heard that the film is not being released in India. But if they plan to release it, we will ban it. For now, they are releasing overseas only. That being said, Diljit working with a Pakistani actor is something we are not ready to overlook."

"We have called for a strict ban on all upcoming films, songs or any other sort of projects. Along with Diljit, we have also called for a ban on the producers of the film regarding all their upcoming films," he concluded.

Diljit and his team are yet to react to the controversy.

Besides Diljit and Hania, Sardaar Ji 3 also stars Neeru Bajwa, Jasmin Bajwa, Manav Vij, and others in key roles. The film is slated to release overseas on June 27.

Meanwhile, Diljit is all set to star in the Bollywood film, Border 2, alongside Sunny Deol, Varun Dhawan, Ahan Shetty, and others, and the shoot of the film has already begun.
