Heavy rainfall to continue in state till June 29
Heavy rainfall is very likely to continue across the state till June 29 as the state’s meteorological department has issued orange and yellow weather warnings, resulting in heavy to very very rain in isolated parts of the state.
The department has issued an orange weather warning for several districts including Una, Hamirpur, Bilaspur, Chamba, Kangra, Mandi and Sirmaur districts for June 25 and 26, resulting in heavy to very heavy rainfall. A yellow weather warning has also been issued for several districts of the state from June 24 till 29, resulting in heavy rainfall at isolated places in several districts including Shimla, Solan and Mandi.
The state is very likely to receive light to moderate rain at many places with few spells of heavy rainfall till June 29. Also, the minimum and maximum temperatures are very likely to fall by 2°C to 4°C in the next three to four days.
Meanwhile, the state witnessed heavy rain in isolated areas as well as light to moderate rain at many places of the state during the past 24 hours. No large change in minimum and maximum temperatures were observed as minimum temperatures were in the range of 13°C to 27°C while maximum temperatures were in the range of 21°C to 36°C in the state.
Shimla, the state’s capital, recorded 24°C maximum temperature while prominent tourist destinations Dharamshala, Manali and Kasauli recorded 27°C, 28.3°C and 22.9°C, respectively.
The maximum temperature in Solan was 30.6°C, Mandi 33.8°C, Kangra 34.8°C, Chamba 32.1 °C, Bilaspur 34.2°C, Hamirpur 35.2°C, Kalpa 26.9°C, Kufri 20.5°C and Nahan 28°C,
