Delivering justice to needy govt’s priority, says minister
Minister for Social Justice Empowerment, Schedule Castes and Backward Classes Welfare and Antyodaya (SEWA) Krishan Kumar Bedi on Monday took a strict stance on colony developers and directed them to provide basic amenities to residents. He also directed owners to appear in the next meeting. He warned that if owners failed to attend the next meeting, FIR would be lodged against them.
Minister Bedi was chairing a meeting of the District Public Relation and Grievance Redressal Committee held at the Mini-Secretariat on Monday. Education Minister Mahipal Dhanda, BJP district president Dushyant Bhatt, Mayor Komal Saini, Deputy Commissioner Dr Virender Kumar Dahiya, Superintendent of Police Bhupender Singh, and Dr Pankaj Yadav, ADC and Commissioner Municipal Corporation, were present at the meeting.
The minister resolved three complaints on the spot. Seven complaints out of total 10 in the agenda were kept pending for the next meeting.
While addressing participants at the meeting Mahipal Dhanda directed administrative officers to act promptly for public problem resolutions. He listened seriously to people’s issues and urged officials to work with sincerity to resolve their problems.
Dhanda further said the government’s goal was to resolve problems of the people on priority. The minister further said superficial measures wouldn’t work, the public needs their work done and results.
The first complaint at the meeting of Rakesh Bansal was related to TDI City. He raised issues regarding basic amenities — roads, safety, sanitation and water supply — in TDI City. He alleged that electricity connections were not provided by the Power Department. Roads were teeming with deep potholes and there was no arrangement to maintain cleanliness in the city. The minister pulled up TDI City officials and kept the complaint pending for the next meeting.
In another complaint, Pawan Kumar raised issues of basic amenities in the BPL category flats in Ansal City including lack of streetlights and sewer lines. The minister directed the department concerned to take notice of the issue and kept the complaint pending for the next meeting. The Education Minister said, “Officials are just making excuses and do not want to work. If there is delay in work, I myself will take responsibility.”
In another complaint Gulshan, a resident of Parsvnath Developer Limited, alleged that the developer had carved out plots, but failed to provide facilities in their area. The developer was also charging fee, but not providing any facility to residents, he alleged. The minister expressed displeasure towards colony developers and instructed legal action against owners. The minister warned that if owners failed to attend next meeting, FIRs would be registered against them.
