BJP pays tribute to Dr Shyama Prasad Mookherjee on Balidan Diwas

JAMMU, June 23: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Jammu & Kashmir today paid heartfelt tribute to Dr Shyama Prasad Mookherjee on his Balidan Diwas through a series of programmes organized at the organizational district level across Jammu and Kashmir.
J&K BJP President Sat Sharma, accompanied by MLA Yudhvir Sethi, Secretary Ayodhya Gupta, District Prabhari Rajiv Charak, District President Adv Rajesh Gupta, Spokesperson Rajni Sethi, Munish Khajuria, Parmod Kapahi, and others paid tribute on the portrait of Dr Shyama Prasad Mookherjee in a programme organized by BJP District Jammu at Trikuta Yatri Bhawan, Ambphalla, Jammu.

In another programme, Sat Sharma, accompanied by Vice-Presidents Aseem Gupta, & Anuradha Singh Charak, headquarter Incharge Priya Sethi, Secretary & District Prabhari Ayodhya Gupta, District President Naresh Singh, Rekha Mahajan and others paid tribute to Dr Mookherjee in a programme organized by BJP District Jammu South at party headquarters, Trikuta Nagar, Jammu.
BJP General Secretary (organization) Ashok Koul, accompanied by headquarter Incharge Priya Sethi, Office Secretary Tilak Raj Gupta, Vinay Gupta and others offered their tribute to the great patriot at party headquarters, Trikuta Nagar, Jammu.
Sat Sharma, while paying tribute, said that it was because of Dr Mookherjee’s supreme sacrifice that J&K today stands fully integrated with the rest of India. “He never compromised on principles and questioned the provision of separate symbols and laws for Jammu and Kashmir. His sacrifice is a cornerstone in India’s journey toward true unity,” Sat Sharma said.
Ashok Koul described Dr Mookherjee as the ideological architect whose vision continues to guide the BJP. “The foundations of our party are rooted in the ideas of Dr Mookherjee and Pt Deendayal Upadhyay. Leaders like him lived not for personal gain but for a greater cause, for the welfare of all and the vision of a strong, unified nation,” he said.
Yudhvir Sethi highlighted that Dr Mookherjee’s life is an embodiment of unwavering courage and selfless nationalism. “Such individuals are rare, and his legacy will continue to inspire not just the BJP cadre but generations of Indians.”
Priya Sethi recalled Dr Mookherjee’s martyrdom for the full constitutional integration of Jammu and Kashmir. “He firmly opposed having two constitutions, two flags, and two sets of laws in one nation. His protest and ultimate sacrifice are etched in the foundation of a unified Bharat,” she added.
Adv Rajesh Gupta said that Dr Mookherjee foresaw the dangers of separatism and his martyrdom motivates every activist of BJP to uphold the unity, integrity and sovereignty of India.
Naresh Singh Jasrotia stressed that today, J&K owes its full constitutional and political integration with India to the fearless stand and ultimate sacrifice of Dr Mookherjee.
Sunil Sharma, J&K BJP General Secretary and Leader of Opposition in the J&K Legislative Assembly, participated as the chief guest in a tribute programme organized by the Deep Kamal Foundation at Bandra, Mumbai, on the occasion of Balidan Diwas. The event was held at the historically significant location, the very site where the first session of the Bharatiya Janata Party was convened.
Senior BJP leader and former Deputy Chief Minister Kavinder Gupta, while paying tribute to Mookherjee during a programme at Udhampur, asserted that the latter’s relentless struggle against the separate constitutional status of J&K sowed the seeds of complete integration of the region with the rest of India.
Senior BJP leader and former Minister Bali Bhagat participated in a free medical camp organised by the BJP Mahila Morcha, J&K Unit at the BJP headquarters in Kacchi Chawani, Jammu, to commemorate the Balidan Diwas of Dr Shyama Prasad Mookherjee.
At a function held at BJP District Office Akhnoor, Ravinder Raina (former President BJP J&K), paid tribute to Shyama Prasad Mookherjee, and lauded his “unparalleled courage” and “invaluable contribution” in nation building.
Senior BJP leader Rekha Mahajan said that the supreme sacrifice of Dr Mookherjee continues to inspire generations to dedicate themselves to the service of the nation and society. She was speaking at the programme for distributing sanitary napkins among women from BPL families, marking the Balidan Diwas.
In Kathua, a programme was organized on the occasion at BJO office, which was attended by Zila Prabhari Munish Sharma, MLA Hiranagar Vijay Sharma, MLA Kathua Bharat Bhushan and senior leader of party. They paid rich tribute to Dr Mookherjee and recalled his scarification for the nation.
